One of the reason’s I shop at Trader Joe’s is paying fair prices for quality food products and I have another. Inexpensive wrapping paper!
As most supermarket chains don’t carry paper bags anymore I found reason to utilize these paper bags to wrap gifts this Holiday Season. My personal experience as a kid growing up in the 70’s can also attest for the excellent protection they offer to cover school books and you can’t beat the price. If you don’t shop at Trader Joe’s see if your local supermarket still uses paper bags and have a Green Christmas.

How cool is that, I wish we used paper bags here in Norway, it would make for cool wrapping paper. Unfortunately is plastic all the way when you shop over here š³ Unless you bring your reusable shopping bag that is š
I find many uses for the plastic one’s too. Liners for the bathroom trash cans and toting things to friends and family on the holidays.
I do the same, but I try to avoid plastic as much as possible (which is really impossible to do in today’s society š) and I bring my own reusable bags pretty much every time I go shopping.
I used to do the same especially at the Farmers Markets until I read about the bacteria that can build up in them. Being too lazy to disinfect them each time I decided to give in to the little plastic bags.
Ouch, haven’t thought about that… hmmm… gotta think about that one…. guess I can always get a reusable on I can throw in the washing machine?
Yes, they do make them.
Love this, recycle, repurpose, reuse! In poorer times I have used plain brown grocery bags and rubber stamped Christmas trees to create my own “wrapping’ paper. Now we mostly use gift bags that we reuse, including the tags. Just collect them up every year after the gift opening.

Oh, I remember those book covers as well. Over the years, I perfected the art of cutting and folding paper bags to match the size of the books. Do schools still require that books be covered? Do they even use books anymore, or is it all digital now?

Yea, not that I have anything against digital. I love my Kindle!
They are still using books as I remember the controversy over being forced to purchase new books each year now due to certain contracts with the board of educations.

One year I took all the old fabric I had been hoarding for years and wrapped all the presents with cloth and used a needle and thread to close them up…it was a really fun Christmas, also made strips for ribbons….took scissors to open them but hey, they still talk about it…LOL love using paper bags to wrap in…keeping it simple is wonderful…love the idea of turning the boxes inside out….future wrap ideas….love the pinecones…..hope your holidays were full of love and joy….kat
