After a long flight from the West Coast to the East Coast of America we finally touched down in PHL. Southwest treated us well although my tailbone is in fire from sitting so long on an airplane seat.
We picked up our rental card from Enterprise with no problems and drove to Toms River, NJ and checked into the Ramada. First things first. Jersey Pizza and a bottle of beer. Ahhh
There are just certain things some regions of the country do better than all of the others. For New York and New Jersey it is without doubt pizza.
That sounds wonderful!
I just moved from Jersey to the south and pizza is the one thing I miss the most! I wont even touch a slice down here. It doesn’t even compare.
Nothing does, although you can find a few good places in Tampa and Naples Florida. The pizza in Oregon is a total embarrassment to the industry.
I’m a NEW YORKER. # 1 in BAGELS!
Not that I eat them anymore, thanks to T2D! 😂
I think the reason for the “goodness” of the pizza and bagels, has to do with the water in NY and NJ.
Enjoy your family and friends while you’re here on the East Coast, Bill. Welcome to Indian Summer!
The colors have been EXQUISITE!
Safe travels.

We’ve been in FL since 2009. I miss NJ pizza! And bagels. And Taylor Ham. 🙂
I had Taylor Ham, Egg and Cheese with Salt, Pepper and Ketchup for lunch today. Woo Hoo
I love a good pizza – I also live in the Northeast and have to say that it’s just not the same when you travel. The only other place I’ll get pizza is in Chicago, to get deep dish. Otherwise I just avoid pizza elsewhere in the country-I’d rather try their regional specialties instead of a mediocre pizza.
Yes, I have to admit that Chicago Pizza is pretty good. Thanks Al Capone. LOL
I know what you mean. The best bread in the world is not in France but at Mr B’s in New Orleans.
I must have that whenever I visit.
Best chocolate? Japan Brand called Royce.
