I’m gaining weight but looking thin. After two days of rest this Monday I am feeling much stronger than last. I have my straight bench press up to a comfortable 350 lbs. and I can actually see the progress I am making in the mirror. The scale is telling me that my body weight is increasing, but my belt is telling me that I am getting thinner.
It’s starting to become very clear to me that body building is the answer to the age old question – “What is the fountain of youth?” I know it takes time and dedication, but I thoroughly believe that with continued efforts I will soon see the results of a blood test to come close to matching my 30 year old self. Because I am eating much better than my 30 year old self they may even be better.

I like the idea that weight training could be the fountain of youth! Great numbers – 350 lb bench is very impressive.
It is on a bow flex so I don’t know where I would be at doing free weights
Can’t wait to start SEEING the physical changes. I’m a month into my program so nothing to show for it yet other than feeling good about FINALLY being on the healthier living track. Next up, I move households – during that process I’m purging to reduce clutter. Heading toward my version of minimalist living.
Woo Hoo! Real Success. Excellent
Great job! I hope to start this in the next few months too.
Outstanding
Good stuff. Perhaps include some deadlift or squats?
I find that they’re great exercises for getting into shape.
I have the squats down on Fridays with my leg routine but for deadlifts I would have to purchase free weights and probably a lot of them.
