Diabesity War Day #15 – Finding my way back to the Path

trail-prayer-walkYesterday I ate like shit and I suppose that after a week of eating like shit it seemed to push me to eat more crappy food. Today I brake that cycle once again as I will return to eating natural foods and practicing intermittent fasting. Vacation time is over and it is time to start finding my way back to the path that I was on.

Life is made up of a series of choices. Each one of us has the power to either make good choices each day or bad choices. We can choose those things that feel comfortable each day, or we can choose those things that are a bit more difficult but lead to an ultimate comfort. It is up to us. I know that getting up early each morning and kicking ass on my bowflex machine and pounding out miles on my treadmill isn’t so easy, but I also know that because of these efforts I feel an incredible surge in energy later in the day. I also know that sitting down and eating a whole lot of bad carbs leads to wanting to eat more bad carbs and ultimately to a feeling of sickness later in the day. It is by fasting more that 12 hours each day then eating those foods provided by nature that I know will bring me a true sense of comfort each day. By practicing these things each day I also know that I am arming my body to build an immune system that is ready to take on any invader that may come my way. By avoiding sickness my life is filled with joy.

    I understand that…unfortunately I feel off the wagon so to speak and ate really bad this weekend. Boy did I pay for it this morning. But today I am doing better. It’s hard sometimes but the reward is the best when we can stay on track. Btw glad you had great trip!!

    • Thanks. Life is what it is at times and our overall habits really are pretty much dictated by our emotions. All we can hope for is to make small changes that will ultimately lead to something positive. It’s all about those baby steps we take and remembering to fill our lives with joy.
