Diabesity War Day #4 – Finding my Balance

FindingYourBalanceSo here I am at day #4 and I have nothing but positive feelings about the progress I am making so far. My overall body weight has come down slightly once again as too my morning glucose reading. I can see glimpses of progress in the mirror and overall I feel incredible.

I was able to put off eating yesterday until 11:30 AM when I at lunch which gave my body a 17 1/2 hour break. Even without eating and a 1 hour workout in the morning I still felt energetic. I am starting to recognize when I actually get hungry by a sensation I feel in my throat. Sometimes I feel this certain sensation earlier in the morning or sometime later like yesterday.

Lunch consisted of a little corned beef with a lot of cabbage, some carrots and about 2 tablespoons of potato’s. For dinner I ate a crab cake, asparagus and a large salad.

My process with weight lifting seems to be moving more rapidly than I anticipated. As I keep raising the weights slightly with each new circuit I am actually doing many more reps in each set than I would like. I am trying to keep each set at around 20 reps give or take. I believe that because of muscle memory my muscles are trying to return to where I left off last year with strength training. Uh Oh, look out Beast Mode!

I am also making more progress with the 40 minute fast paced walk on the treadmill. I feel my heart getting a little stronger each day as it works to pump blood throughout my system during these walks. It is an incredible feeling.

I am being pretty much faithful to pushing forward in my commitment to working out each morning and giving it my best. Sometimes all it takes is just a little push to get started to build up enough motivation to continue on the right path. I am developing a pattern of allowing my body to dictate each day when it is really hungry. I am trying really hard to find those foods to eat that are most nourishing to all the cells in my body while restricting excess sugars and processed foods. I am sleeping a minimum of 7 hours each night and learning to prevent those triggers in my mind that cause stress.
