Being a poor kid living in a large city certainly brought about certain challenges, but on the other side of the picture our little group definitely found ways of entertaining ourselves. I remember one Saturday morning we we down town just goofing off when we decided to sit at the bus stop and count the number of people who pick their noses while waiting for the red light change to green. We were astonished! After counting numbers at the end of our busy morning we estimated that over 25% of people waiting for a red light to change to green could stop the temptation to place one of their fingers in their nose.
Of course we weren’t exactly the silent types and we cheered each suspected victim of our game until eventually a finger would make it’s way up to their noses. The closer they got to engulfing in the act the louder we became as we cheered on like the favorite fans of a popular sport.
Our winners that day we labeled “prospectors” as they were in search of their own gold. LOL.
Whether this is a nervous condition or something chronic I really don’t know, but to this day I often watch as people are waiting for the light to turn. Yes, it was fun being a kid.
We all do it, but so few admit it. 🙂
LOL. I suppose we do.
Aw, man! This reminded me of a horrible story. When I used to work in NYC I always dreaded the commute and the creepy men who’d sit next to me. One of the top three worst was the guy who was sitting next to me, rolling his snot into a ball between his thumb and pointer finger. I thought I’d puke. I pushed my body against the window so I could be as far away from him as possible.
On a funnier note, as a kid who went to Catholic school, my girlfriend once told me to watch the noses of the people receiving Communion. That always made me laugh! And maybe that’s why to this day I find people — both men and women — with strong noses more attractive than those with little noses 🙂
LOL. Ah yes, the Roman nose.
Ooo gross. Yes we all do it but not in public please! Lol😜
I new I could shake things up a bit! LOL

I think picking noses with a bare finger is disgusting. My teacher taught us to use tissue paper.
Seems like you are doing some walking down memory lane recently!
LOL. A little laughter…
