The World Sucks, Take these Drugs

news inscription in studio tvAs I was working in the kitchen my wife was watching the news in the next room. Doom and gloom followed by commercials from pharmaceutical companies advertising the latest and greatest drugs on the market. I didn’t even realize I was saying it but there is was… “The world sucks, take these drugs”. I have stopped watching the news a long time ago and I finally put my reasons into words. Billy

I Agree with you whole heartedly, if that’s even a word..LOL I never watched the news, or read the depressing news paper our town puts out…then I met my husband, the news nut….he would watch CNN, local news, DW -the German News, read the newspapers on line in both English and the German….he never understood why I left the room when the news came on, with the exception of the weather, but I can get in the weather channel on my computer, I can’t stand to hear all the negative BS the news is putting out there, real or not real….I nicely mind you, pointed out that CNN was on a loop and if he paid real attention he would see that they just replay the same story over and over and add a new tidbit here and there and the rest is just the same…how many times do we have to hear about the same story in the news repeatedly for days…well he is now down to just the 6:30 news with Scott Pelley and his German news papers…YEAH!!! Its funny when we travel, we never ever hear the news, sometime I will pick him up a newspaper in the grocery store if its at the check out stand and I see it, but otherwise we get home and find out what’s happening. I know my son will text me if in the world is breaking apart, so that’s covered…LOL.

    • Every word we allow into our minds becomes a part of us and I choose carefully those things that I allow in. It really is a wonderful world in which we live in and there are more positive things in my life than negative.

I agree with you so much! It was tradition in our house (when I grew up) that after dinner we all had to watch the news together. I hardly ever watch news these days. It’s nothing more than sensationalism controlled by the companies spending money on the ads in between. A way to brainwash the masses into believing what does companies want you to believe.

Yeah, I have quite watching the news too. Seems pretty pointless and I always feel bad afterwards. Plus, I’m trying not to take otc meds and prescriptions anymore. Seems that it’s made me WORSE over the years. Watch the news…anxiety grows…ad for xanax. Ummm, no. How bout, don’t watch the news, do something fun, don’t take xanax. Wahlah! πŸ™‚
