Excellent post. I feel the same way you do. I have been battling with it for several years now and the good new is that I am winning! Woo Hoo.
5-6-7-8 Dancing My Way to a Healthy Me!
Confession time…
I know this is going to sound weird… I am actually relieved to find out I have diabetes. Why? Because now I know that it wasn’t “just a lack of will power,” there is a real medical reason which explains the way I’ve been feeling.
I wasn’t imagining it: I really was fighting against my own body in my attempts to improve my fitness.
I will also admit that I’ve arrived at this point, in part, because of some bad lifestyle choices and in part because of a genetic predisposition. Everyone in my immediate family is large. Except one skinny brother which none of us can quite figure out why he’s the lucky one. sigh

So has your A1c come down ?
Down to a 5.2.
That’s good!
Thanks. 🙂
I understand this totally. I was diagnosed with several things as a kid. Some orthopedic but the worst was chronic fatigue and all the bells and whistles that go along with it. Now it’s better known. Yea, training hard is both helpful yet complicated as so many of the studies conducted have been conducted on either mice or sedentary people.
I have had multiple studies when I was world class. Amongst other places I went to The Cooper Clinic for free, as opposed to people paying 10-25k. I could have a 45 resting heart rate and barely go over 100 training to 100 resting and in the 220s with slights intervals, sad but true. I am an anomaly
Wow.
Yea it has been bad. One day I run a close to under 4 minute mile or an under 46 second 400 then I do an 8 minute warmup mile and my hr goes to 230. No rhyme or reason from my teens and older.
That’s just crazy.
Thank you very much for the compliment and for sharing/reblogging my post. I really appreciate it.! 🙂
My pleasure, it was a great post. 🙂
