It appears that my body has selected a balanced weight once again. I have settled at 165 lbs. and it has been in this range for almost a month now. This happens every several months where suddenly I will continue to lose several lbs. for about two weeks and then it will stop. I call these “Breaking Points”. The last time I was stuck at 173 lbs. Periods like these are natural where for survival reason the body holds on to body fat because burning to much fat too quickly sets off alarms of danger. The key to getting past these times is to simply continue with your routine until your body feels safe in your current weight and decides that it is safe once again to start burning additional fat. It always happens and will continue to happen until you finally reach your perfect healthy weight.
The funny thing about the breaking point is that with continued muscle growth your weight may even increase some. As long as you are staying true to your diet and exercise routine, don’t worry about the scale. As you continue to increase your demand for energy by taking your workout routine to the next level, eventually you will start seeing loses until your body reaches it’s next breaking point. I believe my next one will be at around 160 lbs and I may not see this happen for several months.

How do you check your blood sugar? I was diagnosed as pre-diabetic with a blood sugar of 110 at my last physical and need to lower it. My mom died at 71 from complications of type 2 diabetes and I will turn 59 soon.

I use a glucose meter. My doctor prescribed it several years ago. As soon as I get up I check it each day. Talk to your doctor about getting one.
Thanks
No one should have to die at 71. I am sorry for you loss. Check out following a Paleo style way of eating. I read several books by the experts and I am more than convinced that it is one of keys to beating T2D. Primal Blueprint by Mark Sisson, and Paleo Solution by Robb Wolf are to of the best. Get on top of it, stay on top of it, stay positive, stay focused and ROCK IT!
This is such sane thinking! I wish more people would get this – that weight loss is not linear, nor is it entirely predictable. Still, consistency of healthy habits is important regardless of how the scale wiggles. (Thanks for visiting my site.)
Your right Kim, when it comes to logical thinking for some the scale can be their worst enemy.
