02-01-15 – Sunday – Eating After a Fast

For some crazy reason I munched out on tortilla chips that I found in the pantry last night and then added a few pieces of dark chocolate to the mix. These are those moments that drive me crazy the next day as I ask myself why? Those chips that are filled with all kinds of chemicals were serving as my bodies cravings of salt, and the dark chocolate was obviously cravings for sugar. I have noticed that I have been cravings like this on the days that I am committing to an 18 hour fast. The problem is that while doing this I am destroying all of the benefits that fasting brings, like the additional fat burning.

So I have come up with a solution. Immediately after breaking the fast I should be eating more calories in both meals. Even though I am reducing my meals down from three per day to two per day it doesn’t mean that my body requires less total calories function. And Yes, as I am learning my body will scream out for more calories. This is especially true during the repair and recover phases over the 48 hours following intense workouts.

I am observing the results of this mistake I made last night in both my heightened blood sugar this morning and breaking out with a few pimples on my lower abs. I noticed that I didn’t sleep as well as I normally do last night and that my result in less optimum health today Oh, and by the way, today is Superbowl Sunday. I will be facing all kinds of unhealthy foods tonight and will have to be mindful of all the things I just posted in this blog. LOL
