Despite the fact that my numbers are high again this morning, today there is cause to celebrate. Today marks my 6 month anniversary of that day I decided to quit smoking. I can’t even begin to describe just how much better I feel. Gone are the days where I had to try to sneak off somewhere to light up a cigarette and hope that I don’t get caught smoking in an area where you are not allowed to smoke. No longer do I have to worry about if I stink of tobacco smoke. I haven’t had a headache since I quit and I don’t cough anymore. I don’t think about that thick pasty layer of nicotine building up inside all of the parts of my body, nor do I think about the negative effects that it has on my cellular activity.
Yes, I am smoke free. I am working out, eating right and I look good and feel good. Based on the current price of a pack of these nasty little devils I have saved over 2,400.00 dollars. This was money that stayed in the checking account and helped us fuel a refinance on our home. Yes, yesterday we applied for a refinance on our current mortgage. The house increased in value by 15% in just one year, we are getting a rate of 3.1% and have reduced our time from 29 years to just 15 years. We will no longer be paying 193.00 for mortgage insurance each month and our new payment is only around 130.00 more each month than our current payment. This will also speed up the process of paying of this loan as we add extra funds each month. The only downside is that it is costing a few thousand dollars in fee’s, but they are tax deductible.
So getting back to those high numbers this morning… Excellent workout yesterday, sausage and eggs for breakfast, squash soup and salad for lunch, fried chicken, cauliflower, green beans for dinner. Followed by 4 bottles of beer. So I am looking at the soup, the fried chicken and the beer being the problem. Let’s see if I can do a little better today and just keep on keeping on.
