10-19-14 – Sunday – Reading the body and going with the energy

It is Sunday and this morning I awake feeling very little energy. I felt this way yesterday too yet I pushed through a bowflex workout, as today I pushed through a cardio workout. I am having difficulty hearing out of my right ear, there is no pain, but I feel a certain amount of pressure. I believe that I may have some kind of infection in there.

I am thinking about the last four or five days and how I botched up the paleo way of eating. I ate a stupid cookie on Thursday, while eating lasagna on Friday. I have also been eating oatmeal before my workouts in the morning. I know these acts have taken me out of ketosis, but after feeling like I needed energy I turned to carbohydrates. I believe that this may have been a mistake and just listened to my body and not worked out, or simply limited the workout to the energy that I was feeling at the time. I noticed that the same weight that I have been pushing up for weeks now felt so much heavier and that should have been an indication that I needed to limit the workout and not feed into my ego that wants to see a bigger chest in the mirror.

I will get back on track with eating correctly today. Once again, my total carbohydrate intake should be down near 35 grams and these carbohydrates should come from only natural sources. As we made our typical trip to the Saturday Morning Market yesterday I feel something very personable about picking out fresh vegetables that will soon be prepared with love and become a part of me as I consume them.

    Have been following your profile for several months, and it is almost identical to my routine, blood sugar numbers, etc. But I am nearly 20 years older and about 20 pounds heavier. I do not work out with as much dedication as you, but I live a rural life (retired) and find myself very active at least four or five days a week. I have been slowly, but steadily losing some weight. Started out at 200 at the beginning of the year; now 187. Aches and mild “pain” seem routine anymore, but I attribute it to irregular exertion of different muscles since I do not have a regular workout schedule. Still, life is good. Keep up the good work. It is worth it to get where I am and feel reasonably good on a daily basis.
