Yesterday was one of those days at work where it seemed that everywhere I turned I found cookies, donuts and cakes. The funny thing is that I felt no attraction toward any of them. It was bosses day and employees brought in special treats in appreciation of their supervisors. There are always days like these in most work places. Birthdays and Holidays seem to bring in foods that would send a diabetic to an early grave. It would be wonderful if people would bring in healthy foods rather than unhealthy foods, but this would break tradition.
Nice! Blood sugar and weight are both down this morning. Other than a few sets of situps, I am taking a workout rest day. This means that I will not eat that bowl of oatmeal this morning and will stick with the strict paleo diet. Come tomorrow I will take in the small amount of carbs and go into an intense chest routine.
I am starting to read my body a little better now and am realizing that it more important to allow my body to dictate my workouts than for me to push it into routines it doesn’t want to do. Burning fat starts with the diet and building muscle starts with hard work. Muscles build after the workout not during the workout. Getting adequate rest after the workout is paramount. Building a great body takes years of the combination of all of these elements – diet, hard work and rest.
4:00 AM – Blood Sugar – 94, Weight – 172.2
SITUPS – 25, 25, 75, 50 = 175
And donuts, cookies and candy are magnets for me too
