09-28-14 – Sunday – No Pie

nopie Today I am taking my time on the bowflex doing slow concentrated chest exercises and making sure to take each set right to the limit. I am mixing each set up with situps, which I have managed to start doing every day. I don’t want my abs to grow large, just cut up. As I continue on my path with the paleo or keto style way of eating I can almost imagine dropping another ten lbs before the end of this year. I would love to see myself down to a size 30″ waist and I do believe that I can do it. As I continue to trim down the fat on my body and keep my carbohydrate intake to a minimum I will get my early morning blood sugar readings down in the 70 range on a consistent basis and come off of the metformin medication. Once this is achieved I can simply stay on a maintenance plan of diet and exercise.

As the weather is quickly changing, so does our eating habits. We tend to move more towards those comfort foods and I will move in the same direction. The difference is that I will eat more of the pot roast and avoid the the mashed potatoes and gravy. I will take advantage of all of the autumn vegetables that are grown locally in the Pacific Northwest. All of the delicious baked goods like the pies, cakes and cookies will never touch my mouth, but I will eat a delicious piece of fruit or berries when I get the chance. And I will always remember what is happening inside my body if I should think about those wonderful baked goods.
