I can feel the seasons a changing. The sun is taking longer to come up in the morning and setting too early at night. Summer is starting it’s wind down and leading into fall and I am feeling the desperation of feeling that I didn’t get enough out of it. It has been a very hot summer here in Oregon which is not typically the norm for this region of the country. There were too many weekends that I had little ambition to battle the blazing sun, and passed on too many opportunities of spending time in nature.

Weekends have been a battle with dealing with all of the obligations of taking care of a house. Maintaining the lawn, the garden, laundry, food shopping and whatever else comes up. The good thing is that I had the opportunity to learn so much about this new city I am living in. Oregon City is a pretty wonderful place. The Saturday morning market, the stores and restaurants. The downtown section is making a huge comeback as the old buildings are being restored and new small business is moving in. The paper mill that blocked the view of the Willamette Falls has closed and the property was purchased by an investor. The city is looking forward to seeing some amazing development that will attract people to the second largest waterfalls in America.

So there still is time to get out there and be amongst the beauty that surrounds. Summer is not over and the temperatures are going to get cooler. The tree’s, the wild flowers and mountains call my name and beckon me to come and play in there comfort.

I am seriously lacking energy this morning and just carrying my workout through a basic maintenance routing. I believe it is time to re-examine my morning diet again. I believe that it may be time to get some carbs into my system 30 minutes prior to my workout for fuel. I am thinking that a small amount of oatmeal taken in as soon as I get up will fuel the workout and give me the energy I need to move me through. After the workout I will eat protein and of course some type of berry as it assists with maintaining my glucose levels. This going to limit my time for the workout, but should also give me a much better, well rounded workout.
