excellence_quoteI have good news to report this morning. Yesterday was the first day working in a new position and I previously posted that I purchased new dress pants. One being a pair of khaki’s that were a size 32″ waist and were slightly tight on me. For over a week and a half I pushed the treadmill hard and strived towards trying to fit those khaki’s by yesterday. Well, the khaki’s fit perfectly with a little breathing room. SUCCESS! So, since I started this mission on February 13th, 2014 until today May 28th, 2014 I went from a tight size 36 waist down to a comfortable 32 waist. I am totally rocking this thing. I refuse to believe that we simply start putting on weight as we get older. Yes, our metabolism does slow down, but with hard work and dedication we can control it’s effect. In one year I am going to be a fifty something with the body of a twenty something. I will reverse type II diabetes and be the healthiest I can be. Determination and hard work rule my future and I will not give in to mediocrity. Anything less than excellence is unacceptable.
Morning glucose reading down again. Weight went up slightly to 171.6. I am still dealing with an ingrown toe nail and working the treadmill this morning would be really stupid. I almost decided to skip the workout all together until I walked out into the garage and my BowFlex machine started taunting me. “So Billy, are you just going to walk past me this morning?” “When was the last time you worked on those muscles of yours, over a week?” Yea, I am doing strength training today. Lesson to be learned, “If you don’t want to be pushed into a good strength training workout, don’t purchase a talking BowFlex machine.”

4:00 AM – Blood Sugar – 106, Weight- 171.6

4:30 AM – BowFlex – Chest and Legs
Bench- 80/80- 25, 90/90- 30, 30, 25
Incline- 60/60- 40, 25, 33
Decline- 60/60- 40/40- 22, 14, 20
Fly’s- 40/40- 15, 20, 20
Squat’s – 20, 20, 20

6:30 AM – Breakfast – Oatmeal, Strawberries
6:40 AM – Meds + Vitamins
9:30 AM – Snack – Banana, Snack Bar
12:30 PM – Lunch – Steak, Broccoli Rab
3:30 PM – Snack – Snack Bar
6:30 PM – Dinner – Chicken, Green Beans
6:40 PM – Meds + Vitamins
7:30 PM – Snack – Trail Mix
