“I am wide awake and plotting the course of my day as the rest of the world is still asleep” Billy Brennan
There is something very special about the early morning. I don’t know if it’s the silence that I love so much or just the overwhelming feeling that I can get things done without being disturbed. I do my finances and bill paying, get my workout in and do some writing on WordPress. I believe that it may be that I can think and relax and not have to worry about the clock pushing me from moment to moment. Many articles have been published about the benefits of waking early, and many success stories have started with getting out of bed early. When that sun rise starts peaking it’s way over the horizon I feel a thrill go through my bones that can only be described as something spiritual. Like being among groups of angels dancing and singing on the beach as the sun rises, my heart is dancing and singing right beside them.
And once again I screwed up. Vietnamese Restaurant yesterday for lunch? What was I thinking? I know that my blood sugar is not dangerously high at 112, but I take so much pride in keeping it under 100. Oh Well. The long weekend is over and it is back to the grind once again. My weight was slightly higher from 170.6 yesterday to 170.8 today. It is time to get back on track Billy boy and just keep on keeping on baby.
Something pretty amazing happened this morning. I decided that I needed a day away from the treadmill. I have a stupid hang nail and I didn’t want to push it. So instead I started off to do sit ups on the exercise ball at 50 reps per set. Well on the first set I just blew past 50 and went right to 100. I felt that I could of went way of 100 if I chose to, but chose to stop as prevent injury. First set, it’s been awhile since I last did sit ups so my abs are well rested. Second set I pictured coming back to my original target of 50, but no, I blew past the 50 again and went right to 100, this time with a little more difficulty. I don’t even remember doing 100 sit ups in 1 set when I played sports in High School. Wow! This is an amazing feeling.

At nearly 70, I am enjoying your discoveries in the “over 50” bracket. Not intentionally, at least not for health reasons, I have been an early riser (6 am or earlier) most of my life. I hope your fitness rules are valid! 😉
We shall find out Merlin. I simple know that if it feels right, it usually is. I didn’t say feels good, but feels right. Your still winning at 70 as you will be at 90.
