05-26-14 – Monday – Memorial Day

“It is Memorial Day. This day I thank those souls who have bravely fought on the front lines all around the world to allow me to live in freedom in this incredible country we call America. I thank those all around the world who have taken a stand against the evils of men to protect the innocent from the horrors of control.”
Billy Brennan

Yesterday I tried to increase my dose of metformin back to 1000mg twice a day. After the morning dose gave me diarrhea I decided to go back to 500mg twice a day. My morning glucose came in at a 107 this morning. My weight dropped almost two lbs. since yesterday and I am wondering if this has more to do with the diarrhea yesterday cleaning my lower GI tract out, or the fact that I have been killing it on the treadmill for almost a week now. And I am still running naked. Maybe I need to change the name of the blog to the “Naked Runner”, just kidding. LOL That would be pretty silly.

oregon_strawberries_prideIt is the beginning of strawberry season this year in Oregon and I picked up some freshly picked strawberries from the Saturday Morning Market here in Oregon City Saturday morning. I made a big batch of Old Fashioned Oatmeal and will enjoy it each morning this week with those delicious strawberries. Yum!
