I am wide awake and ready for a three day Holiday weekend. I broke a few more personal records again this morning on the treadmill. 1 hour = 4.61 miles. 5 miles = 1 hour and 5 minutes. I am yet another step closer to my goal of the 5 mile hour.

Morning fasting glucose reading is down to 105. I am so happy that I am making progress in this area. This is a sign that my pancreas is adjusting to the reduced medication. Lately I have been focusing so much on calories and weight loss that I have forgotten to watch my carbohydrate intake. Reducing carbohydrates is one of the keys to living with type II diabetes. Sometimes my mind is just all over the map. LOL. What’s a simple dude to do?

Speaking of weight I am back to 171.2. I really hit it hard this morning on the treadmill. I had a little problem this morning that made me stop at one point. I am moving so quickly now that my private parts are really bouncing around. The treadmill is in the garage and in the winter months I run in sweat pants, but now that it is warmer I am running in just boxers. Well with all the bouncing around the tip of privates were rubbing against the boxers and caused an abrasion. So I ending up running with just socks and sneakers. Actually it felt quite liberating. I have an assortment of bikini briefs, but I found that they rub against my inner thigh and cause uncomfortable abrasions in that area. I am getting a kick out of using the word, “abrasion” as you can see. I have been looking for a solution for a while now. Maybe naked is not so bad as long as I am working out in privacy.

4:00 AM – Blood Sugar – 105
5:00 AM – Treadmill – Distance-5.31, Time- 1hr 10min, Calories- 661.6, Weight- 171.2
10:00 AM – Breakfast – Bacon and Eggs
2:00 PM – Lunch – Eggplant Parm on flatbread with spaghetti
6:00 PM – Dinner – 2 Cheeseburger, Potato Salad, Cole Slaw, Beets

  1. One hour on a treadmill…? I couldn’t spend 15 minutes running on a treadmill…
